Picture this: You walk through the turnstiles and before you is the iconic Main Street Train Station. You hear the ringing of a bell, the train is coming! With stops at Main Street USA, New Orleans Square, Toontown and Tomorrowland you get to enjoy a full circle tour of Disneyland. All aboard! Let’s get going.
Every train is Wheelchair & ECV accessible. However, you may end up waiting a long time if you bring your mobility device with you. Each train can only accommodate 1-2 guests with a mobility device at a time. If you are able to transfer, I highly recommend it.
Main Street Station
Our journey aboard The Disneyland Railroad begins at Main Street Station. This iconic location features the best view of Main Street USA in the entire park! And on the other side of the train tracks you see the excited faces of guests entering the park through the turnstiles.
Inside the station itself, there is lots of vintage Disneyland Railroad memorabilia on display. The best item inside the station is a map that shows where the trains are in the park!
Accessibility: Not Accessible. There is no ramp at Main Street Station so Wheelchair and ECV users cannot bring their mobility devices with them at this stop.
New Orleans Square Station
As the train rolls into New Orleans Square Station, you are met with the sounds of jazz music and the smell of freshly made beignets. This stop will be your gateway to New Orleans Square, Frontierland, Critter Country and Galaxy’s Edge. If you listen closely, you can hear Walt Disney’s opening day speech being broadcast in Morse Code. This station is also where the train may stop for a few minutes to refill it’s water tank.
Accessibility: Wheelchair & ECV accessible
Mickey's Toontown Depot

Pulling into Mickey’s Toontown Depot, you will be greeted by the Casey Jr song from the film Dumbo until the train pulls into the station. This stop will be your gateway to Fantasyland and Toontown. And the best part of this stop is that the train goes through It’s A Small World! You can see people below you stepping onto the boats of the attraction while the train rolls through. It’s this fun and unique view of Fantasyland that makes this station my favorite.
Accessibility: Wheelchair & ECV accessible
Note: The hill to get to the station is very steep
Tomorrowland Station

Tucked behind Autopia is Tomorrowland Station. This stop offers a beautiful view of the Matterhorn in the distance. If you are lucky you may see the Monorail zoom by overhead. At this station the conductor will ask that you turn off any lightsabers, light up toys and the flash on your camera or phone as you prepare for the next section of the railroad.
Accessibility: Wheelchair & ECV accessible
Note: This station can be tricky to find. Just walk to the entrance of Autopia, take the path to the right of it and keep walking straight to get there.
The Grand Canyon & The Dinosaurs
As the train chugs on, you will find yourself entering a dark tunnel that will take you on a journey to visit the Grand Canyon. You will see all kinds of animals, such as deer, cougars and mountain goats! (Don’t worry though, they aren’t real.)
The landscape will then transform and take you back to the age of the dinosaurs. Gaze upon ancient creatures from Pterodactyl to T Rex in what once was their natural habitat. Be sure to look out for the adorable baby triceratops!
Note: Some people may find this section scary. It is dark and loud inside the tunnel, and the models may look a bit frightening. If this is a concern, I would recommend getting off of the train at Tomorrowland Station.
As we pull back in to Main Street Station, be to watch your step as you exit the train! Do you have a favorite part of the Disneyland Railroad? Be sure to let me know down in the comments!
